FTMO opened its futures product in beta on 31 August 2026, ten years after starting the CFD business that most of this industry was modelled on. It trades CME contracts on simulated accounts from $50,000 to $150,000, and unlike the CFD side it is sold as a monthly subscription rather than a one-off refundable fee.

One phase, a dollar target

There is a single evaluation phase with a fixed dollar profit target — $3,000 on the $50k account, $6,000 on the $100k, $9,000 on the $150k. No second phase, no verification.

The drawdown is the thing to understand

The maximum drawdown trails your end-of-day balance. It rises as you profit, never falls, and — this is the part that matters — locks permanently once it reaches your initial simulated capital. From that point your limit is a fixed floor at your starting balance rather than a line that follows you forever. Plenty of futures firms run a trailing drawdown; comparatively few stop it. See static vs trailing drawdown for why that distinction decides more accounts than the profit target does.

The allowance itself is a dollar figure, not a percentage: $2,000 to $5,000 on Growth depending on size, $3,000 to $6,000 on Pro.

Growth or Pro

Growth has no daily loss limit during the evaluation at all, and a soft one once funded — hit it and your open positions are closed for the day, but the account survives to the next. Pro runs a hard daily limit in both phases: breach it and the account is gone. In exchange Pro gives a wider drawdown allowance, a looser consistency cap, withdrawals of up to 100% of profit above starting capital rather than 50%, and roughly double the per-request payout ceiling.

Both tiers cap your best day as a share of total profit — 40% on Growth, 50% on Pro. That is a consistency rule by another name, and on Growth it is tighter than most of the futures field. What a consistency rule actually costs you is worth reading before you pick a tier.

Getting paid

Every account pays on a flat 90/10 ratio, with no scaling ladder to climb first. To request, you need qualifying days — four on Growth, five on Pro — each clearing a dollar threshold that rises with account size, and at least half of any request must be profit earned in the current payout cycle. Per-request caps run $2,500–$4,000 on Growth and $5,000–$8,000 on Pro.

What it is not

Accounts are sim-funded. FTMO says it invites selected traders to a live funded account trading real capital, and does not publish how that selection is made — so treat live funding as undocumented rather than as a step you can plan for.
